Title Sequence Analysis (Bourne Identity) - Max

The opening title sequence for this film is all shot from the P.O.V of what seems like a security camera, or infact someone who is filming someone else. This gives the effect that perhaps someone is stalking this unknown character.

The fact that there is a lot of emphasis on the stalking of this character, makes the audience wonder who the character being followed is. Is this the main character? Is this just a random character to throw the audience off? We don't know yet. This is clever as it makes the audience constantly ask questions, before the movie has really even started.

The actual credits appear around people in the P.O.V camera footage, this instantly makes the audience wonder if the names correspond to the person in the film that they are appearing next to, or if the film makers are doing this purely for effect.

Also the credits seem to distort and flicker, giving them an unstable look. This could offer an insight into either the film, or main protagonist of the film, this could possibly be referring to the protagonists instability, or that the film plot in itself, is very unstable and makes lots of twists and turns to keep the audience excited.

The title of the film at the end of the seqeunce is simply just the title written in a small white font at the bomttom of the screen, which then dissapears. This makes the film seem serious, and that the film makers didn't feel the need to try and over advertise it. The title then dissapears by flickering too much for the audience to still make out the words, and then ascend into the top of the screen where the text then shrinks into a small orb of light, before completely dissapearing altogether. This gives the effect of when you would turn off a screen of a computer or tv etc; again reinforcing the idea that this could be footage from a CCTV camera and that the person viewing the footage has now turned it off.

(SCREEN GRABS TO BE ADDED SOON)
