Evidence of editing - Hospital scene - Harrison

Final cut pro was used on the Mac pc's in the editing suite during lesson time, we spent approximately two hours compiling our best shots to put into the final, completed sequence.

This is the concluding shot to the whole opening, and its purpose was to conclude the tension that had been raised throughout the opening sequence, therefore it was crucial to make sure this edit lasts the right amount of time in order to leave the viewer asking questions, without giving too much away. The clip concludes with Max about to open his mouth to say something, then it goes to a straight cut.

This is a close up of the protagonist, we used fast edits here, mixing between big and extreme close ups to convey confusion and anxiety. We chose to use this type of shot, because it allows the viewers to see the panic on max's face, which contributes in creating tension and developing the mood of panic that we are trying to convey.

The two shoots on screen were taken to show the equipment our protagonist is strapped into, this was vital in showing the environment he has found himself in, but also to show the seriousness of the situation he is in. We used a focus pull to add a more professional feel to the shot....
